His horse, California Chrome, had won the Kentucky Derby, then the Preakness, and was running last Saturday for all his worth in the Belmont Stakes, vying to become just the 12th thoroughbred to win the Triple Crown. But it wasn’t meant to be.

Published reports say Tara the cat, made famous in a YouTube video that showed her saving a 4-year-old boy from a dog attack in Bakersfield, California, is going to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a local minor league baseball game. Wonder if she’s a southpaw?

It’s the Battle of the Giants. UConn (39-0) vs. Notre Dame (37-0) in the NCAA finals. The first time in NCAA basketball history that two unbeaten teams will play for the title.

The highlight of the Super Bowl for me was listening to Renée Fleming perform the best version of the National Anthem at a football game EVER.

The Seahawks decimated the Broncos, 43 – 8, and it was all about Beratin’ Manning.
