Not exactly a cakewalk, but the UConn men fought hard against Kentucky to win the NCAA basketball tournament 60 to 54.

Celebrations are abounding in Connecticut. After dealing with the embarrassment of a postseason ban last year due to poor grades, the Huskies are all smiles now.

Last night’s win marks the fourth time UConn has won the NCAA championship, the second time in the past four years.

A true team effort, with an outstanding performance by Shabazz Napier, UConn built a large double-digit lead early in the final game. Kentucky winnowed it down to single digits, but UConn hung in there and never lost the lead.

Tonight, it’s the women’s turn.
