The cast of All the Way serenades The Jersey Boys
Could Broadway be ready for LBJ: The Musical?
The cast of the Tony-winning play All the Way, might be up for it.
Michael McKean, who plays J. Edgar Hoover in All the Way, leads the group in a medley of Franki Valli and The Four Seasons tunes hoping to attract the attention from their counterparts across the Great White Way.
It works. You can see in the video clip below, the Jersey Boys responding with applause from their dressing rooms above the marquee.
It’s good to see Mr. McKean break out the musical talents he’s displayed in A Mighty Wind and This is Spinal Tap. As FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, let’s just say he’s not quite as amusing.
When I saw All the Way, I left a request and self-addressed stamped envelope with the show’s stage manager, asking if the cast would be kind enough to send me a fully autographed playbill. Got the playbill in the mail, just before the Tony broadcast. Signed by Bryan Cranston, Michael McKean, Brandon J, Dirden, John McMartin, Ethan Phillips, and the whole cast, wow. Not only great onstage, but great people off stage as well.
