Peeps for my peeps
Although I’m known in the office for baking homemade treats like Chocolate Almond Lace Cookies at Christmastime, when I saw a Dunkin’ Donuts ad for Peeps Donuts, I knew I had to get them for my co-workers.
They were too over-the-top GAH Eastery to resist — doughnuts coated with pink or green icing and topped with a miniature marshmallowy Peep. Ha! Perfect for journalists who might need a little pick me-up. Something other than the usual Bourbon on the rocks that is.
The funny thing is, just looking at the Peeps donuts, I knew exactly what they were going to taste like — sweet nothing, light sponges. And so NOT worth the calories.
My co-workers were amused. Some respectfully declined, but others enjoyed sampling a Peep-topped delicacy. Particularly Steve, who ate two. Steve’s a good guy and a good sport, and hopefully has a good digestive tract.

Holy guacamole! Lots of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavorings, food colorings, and chemistry terminology. Also some carnauba wax in the Peeps, which I also use to keep my car shiny. Had no idea that wax was so versatile.
Them’s eats eh?
Need something to do with the extra Peeps from the doughnuts? Er, I mean “donuts.” And there will be extra Peeps. Dare you to eat a whole Peeps Donut in one sitting.
How about Peeps Jousting? Take a pair of Peeps, arm them with toothpick swords, and let them go to battle in the microwave.
